What do you do with so much milk? We drink it at every meal, have made lots of cheese, ice cream, and butter, and there is still lots more. What do YOU do? I still can make soap and freeze some milk, but is there anything else I can do with it?

Ha. Been there. You can buy a bottle calf or little pigs.

yeah, basically thats it. In MA you can sell it for baby animal consumption. We give some away to friends and family. Still always end up with a lot though :P

We also try to make the things that use the most milk, not just things that use some, because it'll get rid of greater quantities faster.

This looks familiar we got 2 pigs. They go crazy for it. Worst case it goes on the compost pile.

That is a problem this time of year. I have five fresh and one more to go. The grandkids drink a lot. I make yogurt every week. We have pudding for dessert way too often. The dogs drink it, the cats drink it, I even give it to the chickens. I would love to raise a calf or pig on it but we really are out of room.

I've come up with lots of ways to use it up besides everyday use....I make different cheeses, mozarella, chevre, amish soda cheese, cottage cheese and cheddar. I make alot of pudding.....Instant in any flavors your family likes and I sometimes even make frozen pudding pops with those ice pop molds from Walmart or the Dollar store. I pack hubby a lunch for work and use those small disposable dixie type cups to put pudding in for him, I just wrap it well with saran wrap and make sure he has a plastic spoon( forgot one once and heard all about how chocolate pudding is good when using a potato chip to eat it with)
I use 2 quarts at a time to make yogurt and I make ice cream too and theres even a neighbor who takes half a gallon a week.
Oh and a big bowl of cereal for dinner on a hot night is filling and uses up milk too!

I try to keep my freshened does to a minimum of 3 because I can only use so much milk, even with soapmaking I still end up with a good bit in the freezer.

Making cheesecake with chevre uses up allot of cheese. You could also take milk bathes lol. Does wonders for the skin.

Milk bath, might try that.

I make a lot of hard cheese. That is really easy to give away, and makes great presents. Also you can mail it, especially in cool weather. Which works really well since it needs to age for months. I also have a neighbor with 6 children and I give them five or six gallons a week.

Since there's just two of us I wound up filling plastic gallon jugs that had ACV in them not quite full & freezing. It sure came in handy for a bottle baby this year!

My extra goes to supplement the feed of the dogs, cats and chickens. It's saving us a LOT of money in commercial animal feed.
