Yonnah: It IS a great product! I feed once a day 2 T with his herb ball. And he loves it. I don't have to fight him to drench Ammonium Chloride! I am so happy!
Here is the link for finding a distributor in your area. Andy Covington is my rep in my area. https://ahanimalnutrition.com/distributor-locator
Andy also said this:
For Western WA and OR, Nutrablend West and Pinnacle Premix would be the best contacts for smaller local feed stores. If the feed store doesn’t currently have BioChlor, they can get it from Nutrablend or Pinnacle.
The website also has information about BioChlor and other ARM & HAMMER Animal Nutrition products.
Yes the link you gave.....it is a protein. This is a protein source as I understand it....for acidifying their urine. I don't understand it all yet. But it is in my opinion better than ammonium chloride. It is a different way to acidify their urine. And it WORKS! In a very short time! I was starting yesterday to give it to my other wether. Within just a few hrs his ph was already changing! I couldn't believe it! I plan to check his ph tonight. He was like a 9 when we started this and yesterday I tested it after giving him some that am and it had already gone down to 7 or below! I was very happy!
But again, if you or others prefer ammonium chloride....by all means go use it! It is completely ok! I just am letting people know there IS another option! My wether hates ammonium chloride! It is like killing him to get it down him! So to have another option for my boys is a blessing! AND the benefits for the rumen are also a good thing!!! Bonus!!!
I am not sure if Magnesium Chloride would cause big kids. I know when I soak my feet in it relaxes me. Some people say soaking feet in magnesium chloride helps your body uptake magesium better than taking it orally. I sleep really good after soaking in it! So for me, it is a good thing! Not sure about does or how it would affect them. But I am only at this point using it for my boys.......
Thanks for pointing that out though....don't know answer on that. I am going to talk with my regional BioChlor rep tomorrow so I will try to remember to ask him about this....
Spoke with Andy the rep today. He's glad about the biochlor working for nibbles
He said when they started with the product it's primary use is to prevent hypercalcimia/ milk fever in cows!
So......couldn't it also be used for milking goats? Do those of you with milkers have to worry about milk fever? If so I sure think this could be a helpful product for you guys too. Not sure but if it's used for cows????
It's working for my wether in getting his urine ph good so stones cannot form in his bladder!! Love this stuff!!
