Three day old twins. Late afternoon one had vanished. Not in hay. Not under hay not in another pen.
Uh oh, the board we put over a hole in the floor was askew.
It was a 4" wide opening so I ripped out enough to get my head & shoulders through.
It was only a 2' drop but kid was way too far under to reach. And he kept moving further away. Mama doe didn't seem to notice, I tried to get LGD to go under but he's not a retriever.
Eventually we made a harness out of hay twine & dropped the sister down there, deciding the next move. Cutting a hole through the floor over the spot he was in would likely just freak him out & drive him to another spot. So we waited. And waited.
It was a good three hours before he finally made his way to his sister where I could grab him.
    Whew!!

What a stinker! Glad you got him out. I took a break this year and have no kids coming. Just needed not to worry about goats for once.

    Karen, I'll be right there!

Yeah never a dull moment. Earlier the buck had bent over a cattle panel. Working from the outside, all ready with cable ties but he would not leave. So I get the hot shot.
One hand on that & the other trying to pull it back to some sort of reasonable place to zip tie it, good grief. He's out of here.

Get him on the bottle and sell him quickly as a bottle baby.
