The Saanen goat breed is a dairy kind having started in Switzerland within the Saanen Valley. It is considered to be producers of high amounts of milk that can have 3-4 % of fat. It is usually medium to large in body size since it has a rugged bone structure.
Its female breeds are utterly feminine in nature and both male and females have white or sometimes light cream in color. When spots are seen on its body, it is acceptable but not really deemed pleasant by breeders. Its hair is usually short and has a fine texture. Its ears are erect and pointed all forward. It has a dished face too with a roman like nose.
It is a bit sensitive to too much sunlight and can be raised best within conditions that have cold weather. It needs a lot of shade though.
