Happy bleats, I do not know what "fishtail" looks like.I have a Boer female that consistently looks shaggy and her tail looks "different" from the others.I have done fecals, and treated for worms. She always looks anemic, igive red cell but she never looks as good as the rest of the herd.Myrtle is an older goat that we got from a friend several years ago, we have never copper bolused but is that something we should try?

Fish tail looks like a wet paint brush shook out..the bristles story of clump and spread. With fish tail often you can see the shadow of the tail bone.
Can you post a picture of her? Does she have loose minerals available? Hows her color..any fading? Thinning hair? When ypu say she looks anemic..what famacha score would you give her? Is her weight good? Eats well?

I had a Nigerian dwarf goat die after kidding. Her cervices did not dilate at all. we took her to a vet . She did not do a c-section. The next day she was foaming at the mouth. The vet and she said to give her 1.5 cc of banamine which is a lethal dosage from what I read. She also had issues with her fist birthing with her cervices not fully dilating. we were wonder if this issue is genetic.

I looked at another website and it said it is also commonly passed on to the offspring.

Yes..this is what I'm understanding. But as a carrier..so as long as she's not bred to a carrier..will be ok. Hard part is not knowing whose a carrier.
I think I would err on the safe side and not breed her daughters.

Hello! I saw on a thread that you had a baby with navel ill. So do I. My son must not have dipped the cord thoroughly enough- anyway the vet has given her 2 injections, 2 days apart, of Nuflor (the baby is 2.5 weeks old). In your experience, what should I do, since it's not going to be possible to keep having the vet make house calls. I would really appreciate your advice! Thanks in advance.

I have 2 bucklings about 3 weeks old. Last night my oldest daughter mixed the milk replacer powder and I found out she added 2 of the enclosed cups with 3 cups of water. Now I have 2 baby's that aren't drinking the milk replacer I also tried the bounch back electrolyte mix. What should I do
