We milk. But we haven't in a while. After we get a buck I plan to bred her (the goat on my profile picture) in August or September, probably September.

We haven't. They're boer goats, produced for meat. Though their milk is good enough for human consumption, they're not bred for that purpose. I forget why. Something to do with not as much production or not as sweet. I forget.

        Cute buck!!

My husband and I are new to raising goats as of 2018, though we spent many years planning for our "retirement" by working hard and by making many, many sacrifices. Upon my husband's retirement from the military, we decided to relocate and use the equity that was in our home to pay off our debt so that we could start life anew. We moved into a family owned home and purchased our first eight registered Boer goats. We've kept our eyes open for blood lines we are intrigued by and for some really good deals... and have expanded our herd a good deal. We have seen such great stock from around the country (USA) that we just couldn't resist! I can't wait to see what our first set of kids that will be home bred turn out like!
