I went out this morning to find one of my 3 kids cold and lethargic. I brought her in and it took 6 hours to warm her. I put a tube in her and gave her milk and colostrum. She has not tried to get up, but she is still alive. I think my doe has mastitis so I gave her penicillin. My guest on is do you think once she is better she will take them back?
I would think so..but you need to make sure that kid eats and such. Definitely post in the forum there are some people who live in colder climates with way more knowledge than me Good Luck!
Did you bring her body temp up to normal before tubing her? They can't digest anything when it is still low. A shot of vitamin E, or BoSe (vitamin E and selenium) may perk her up. If the does bag is hard, it usually just needs a massage and then a little milking . If there is heat or she has a fever, then mastitis. Keep the kid under her nose while you are milking or massaging the udder.
