have a doe that was given a copper Bolus last week and now hair is falling out by the handfuls. We are in alaska and had two days of weather being 23ish then dropping back to the normal of 3ish.
Doe gets goat minerals and baking soda and some goat ration grain

We are familiar with Manna Pro Goat Minerals.

Thanks for the picture, it does look rough. You say your other goats are better than that? Better in what way? What do the hooves look like, and is there any dandruff?

I think you are dealing with mineral deficiencies and that can happen with one goat and not another, because of absorption problems, or greater stress requiring greater inputs, that sort of thing. IMO, you need a better mineral mix. Does anyone sell cattle minerals close to you there? Many cattle minerals are better overall than the Manna Pro. But if that is all you can get, then by all means, keep offering it. Another option, and a good one, is Replamin Plus Gel. You can order it here http://www.pbsanimalhealth.com/deta...plamin-Gel-and-Replamin-Gel-Plus/498-200.html

and elsewhere. It is a good collection of minerals and vitamins that work together in a form that is easily used by your animals. No iodine though, and you need iodine. Make certain they get an iodized salt. Nothing you are giving her has iodine.

I'd also lose the Baking Soda, because that could be satisfying her sodium needs and she's not going to go to the minerals then. She does not need the Baking soda, that is older thinking.

On a side note got two bucks that are loosing hair on face, around eyes and nose. Gave copper, sel and Vit e. Have loose minerals salt block and baking soda.
I feed boss and a little goat ration due to being a little thin when I got them. Both are two year olds. Been about three weeks and noting no improvement but more hair loss

It can take more than 3 weeks to see the results of copper bolusing. How much do the goats weigh and what size bolus did you give? Hair loss around the face can also be zinc deficiency.

Personally I would take away the salt block and baking soda - you want them to choose the loose minerals every single time they are craving salt.

If not external parasites, then it is probably minerals. I'm guessing minerals. Get rid of the Baking Soda, give them iodized salt, granular sea salt, and/or kelp meal. And order some Replamin.

You can often find kelp meal in a store that has a garden area. Like Lowes, or Walmart. Just make sure it is kelp, not fish meal, or crab shells.
