Aw geez Moers...Pretty but YUCK! It's tooo early! Normally this weather doesn't hit till January...
We just got the cold snap too...hopefully your goats have their winter coats. My are having a rough time. Their coats haven't fluffed up yet. It went from 80* to 20's and I've had to hang heat lamps in all 3 shelters and put a heater in with the younger ones. Two I've got inside the house, one with a fever.

He seems to be feeling better thanks. Just noticed sleet hitting here but it's 37* so hopefully it doesn't stick. I hope your power stays on. It's really weird that it's hitting this early I hope we're not in for a horrible winter.
I haven't looked in my Farmers Almanac yet but I guess it's time to dig it out. I usually wait for the time change.....

Jeez, I hope all your goats will be ok!
We had snow again, but it’s warm (around 32F), so it was wet snow.
I dried mine all off, even though they weren’t really wet. They enjoyed the rub down. At least they have their winter coats.
Good luck to you all in the cold south!

Yes..mine are huddled in their homes..enjoying the warm dry hay. But outside is treacherous. I locked them in tonight. I dont want them getting wet and its 27° and dropping. So tonight
.they will be dry and hopefully this 3rd ice storm will be short lived and gone. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think this time of year I might be thankful for rain instead of snow but I'm not sure... it's sort of that in-between time when summer is well and fully over but I'm not quite ready for winter. I guess I'm never quite ready for snow until November, although it is semi-traditional in Colorado to have a big dump of snow on Halloween or the day before. The best part about a snowy Halloween is watching all the teenage girls wearing their "sexy" costumes. (WHY on God's green Earth is every costume made for women labeled "sexy"??? No one wants to see your "sexy" Dorothy or "sexy" pirate!). Anyway, they go slipping and sliding around in their ridiculous stiletto heels with their goose-pimpled bottoms practically hanging out from under their miniskirts and their bare little blue arms clenched tightly around their frozen cleavage. All of their costumes, be it a sexy nurse, French maid, or scantily-clad witch, look the same at that point--frozen blueberry popsicle.

(rofl)(rofl). I know...right? Well here they get a sexy drenching with that costume. They all look.clown faced..cause the rain has ran down their faces. The hair is wet ,limp and partially frozen..but no stilettos here:imok:..they wouldn't make it out their front door. Lol lol and yet...they still wear the thin material to freeze in.
.so yes on the blue goose pimpled zexy zexy clown face wet costumez... (rofl)(rofl)

Moers Kiko, I have a nephew that lives in Shawnee. I was talking with him about the weather when you guys got this storm. I live across the red river in TX, so we get very little of that kind of weather, and glad of it. Hope all is well with you by now.
