Hi everyone. So I’ve already had the vet to him and she gave me injections and also a spray, which I’ve been spraying on the infected area daily, but she couldn’t tell me what it was, though she suspected an infection or dermatitis.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I honestly don’t know what to think. Mites?
Nothing has changed with the goats, so I’m really at a loss.
Warning before you look: the picture isn’t pretty. I have no idea how this has happened.
Looks like mites. What injections did the vet give? Ivomec injectable will help kill the mites, also gently scrubbing the scabs off with 50/50 vinegar/water. Pat dry and apply Nustock on location. We apply the nustock daily until skin clears up and hair begins to grow back.
Thank you! I have ivomec that can either be injected or taken orally. Guessing it'll have the same results?
the vet gave a steroid injection and penicillin.
Wasn't aware of the nustock at all and was worried I wouldn't be able to find it in the UK, but luckily there is some avaliable just going to buy some. Thank you again.
He won't lick enough nustock to hurt him. Be sure to lift a nice big tent of skin to inject ivomec in..1 cc per 40 pounds sub q...hold that tent and jiggle a few seconds after injecting. Ivomec stings..so expect a reaction
Ok, I was wrong, I have a doe that I put Nu Stock on and her dippy daughter licked it off. One out of a billion goats, figures, I have that one! :ahhrofl)
