Both boys I have still have the band on. Their balls are gone, it's all shriveled up now. The area looks clean, no pus, no blood, nothing and it's not black either. A friend used the banding method once, but it was not for castration and not on a goat. The tumor turned black as it died off and it fell off and it also turned black on the other side of the green band also. He brought me the dog to have it cleaned and I cared for her, cleaned it and in about 2 weeks it healed and you could not tell the dog even had a tumor there. BTW This was on a 60lb 10yr old Pit Bull with a breast tumor that was already removed 3 times before surgically and he did not want to put her under again or put her to sleep, but the tumor was growing again so he banded it when the Vet said to put her down. This sweet dog lived another 6 months happy, tumor free until the cancer spread to her lungs... the tumor never came back though... But anyway, just a little explanation on that.
I was just wondering will the goats sack turn black also? Does it always falls off or do you need to assist? I think the breeder said they had been banded for a week or 10 days, not too sure, I just emailed her. I can take pics if needed. Just want to make sure what to look for.
Thanks
