Hello I have a 1 month old ND doeling she began off yesterday and her gums appeared to be pale so I gave her ivomec and today she has eaten her bottle twice normal amout... she has coughed more than normal. She has literally spent most of the day sleeping on my lap inside. I gave her vitamin B paste, and some power punch thinking it would perk her up a bit but now she is barely moving around didn't even squat to pee just stood up. I do t even know if she will eat her night bottle... I plant to keep her inside tonight and monitor her close any other ideas?

Her belly is firm but not tight, her breath is foul so sour, and her poop is clumpy and dark. I gave her 1 tsp of baking soda mixed with oil a few mins ago... I plan to.give another dose of power punch before bed I attempted pedialyte but she didn't want it. She did drin a couple sips but then turned away. She isn't even excited at the site of her bottle. She is breathing like she hurts and is now standing hanging her head...

If it were my goat. I would mix a half cup milk with Electrolytes in it and feed it to her by syringe. And repeat in a half hour. Have you had a fecal done? How old is she? Can you push in her rumen or is it firm? And is her gums cold?
Today is much better. I have cut out her replacer and done straight electrolytes. I haven't had a fecal done yet my vet is out of town. Plan was to have her go in next wk. But this his fast and hard. I can push on her rumen it's firm but it gives to touch... it's sloshy though ... I'm thinking floppy kid maybe. She is 5 weeks today
Do NOT mix milk and electrolytes. Give one or the other. The replacer is more than likely your problem. Whole milk from the store is better.

I have hay in front of her but she doesn't touch it she will like nibble on a peice and spit it out... Just straight whole cows milk? Next question....Could this be coccidosis? She began having diarrhea this morning dark liquid, messy butt, I thought maybe it was due to changing out the replacer for electrolytes... I have pen G in hand should I dose her with that. Temp this morning 102.5. She ate 6oz electrolytes. And nibbled at some baking soda. Gave her b complex and some power punch She is back to just laying around. She seems to be cold lying in front of the stove or in the sun. Idk I ordered some corid from Amazon its the soluble powder but it won't be here until Thursday... I have checked every farm store in our area and no one has it in stock.
Can I do red cell with power punch?
Ok...lots going on....First of all can u post a picture? What is her temp? If her temp is ok then u can introduce whole cows milk from the store, but make sure u are feeding the right amount. Weigh her in ounces. Then feed her 10-12% of her body weight in ounces divided into three or 4 times per day. Example 15 pound goat. 15x16=240 oz. 240x 10%=24 oz. 24oz ÷ 4 = 6 oz per feeding. Make sure the milk is warmed up to about 100 or feels hotter on the back of your hand. Over feeding can cause more problems. Also add a pinch of baking soda to the first bottle. How do her eyelids look? Are they pale? The pale gums could be from being sub temperature and maybe not parasites. You say she is cold. Can u put her on a heating pad or under a heat lamp? 4 weeks old is very young to have barberpole worm which causes anemia. Typically other stomach worms do not cause anemia. She is the right age for coccidia. Has she been dam raised or bottle raised? The diarrhea could be a result of all the sudden changes and meds given....however, if it doesn't clear up soon or has blood in it I would treat for coccidia ASAP. maybe your local vet could give u some corid? Other may have some advice as well?

She is at the right age for coccidia. Until you get your order of corid..I would give her tummy tamer with added clove to address parasites
since she is tiny I would do 1/2 teaspoon each
Cayenne pepper
Cinnamon
Clove
Ginger
Slippery elm (un a pinch,, pharmacy carried this in capsule for human)
Apple cider vinegar
Molasses
All in en I ugh water to drench. (15-20 cc)

Give 2 times a day. To boost effectiveness..blend in a fresh garlic clove until smooth.

All good advice, hope you get the corid soon before too much damage is done. Feed stores carry it, call around.

Also, you may consider feeding your young goats pellets containing deccox to prevent coccidiosis in the future. Just ask for goat pellet DX. Whatever brand u purchase, it should have DX at the end.
I have checked everywhere. But I will keep looking... temp is fine. 102.5. She just keeps sitting in front of the stove. Gums pale but pinker than yesterday. She has a cough... that's new. She is 6 lbs. Very small so 2.4 oz per feeding if my math is right... I just gave her the whole milk and baking soda she loved it! If she doesn't have coccidosis is it going to hurt if I treat her. I found a store about an 1.5 hours away that has it in stock... I'm gonna head out tonight I think

Good to hear, you need to start treatment right away.

Look up my mixing directions and doses for corid liquid or powder.

What a cutie! Looks like she has a good friend to keep her company too. Hope she starts to get better soon! Keep us updated.
Never mix milk and electrolytes!!

Just use whole milk. Sounds to me like cocci may be your problem. I’d run a fecal through a vet so you know for sure!!

I want to thank everyone for the help but we lost Lucy last night. We gave her the first dose of corid before I went to work she was fine when I left, probably the best I had seen in two days, the hubby said she looked good when he went to bed but when I got home 2 hours later she was gone. It's a sad day. Thanks again everyone.
