2 questions about tummy tamer

766 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  happybleats
Hoping someone is up right now....I'm on Hawaii time.

I just made the tummy tamer with the help of a member that is now in bed. I'm having to give very small doses every few hours to an almost 3 week old rescue baby. I did not have the garlic so was told to go ahead and make without.

my questions are:

1. do I store it at room temp or the refrigerator and give his doses cold?

2. cayenne pepper is so hot! I was worried I was reading it wrong. He screamed and screamed after I gave it to him for a few minutes and is now rubbing his nose on everything. Is that okay?

thanks....jamee

Hi Jamie..sorry the cayenne made him cry. I have not had any issue with that. Maybe dilute with a bit more water. Store in fridge. And remember rest is healing..so no need to do over night. Now I'm really heading to bed...😁

Best wishes

Aww cathy lol...thank you ...I"m glad you were still up :D

I put the 30cc of water in it...that equaled 6 tsp. I"m surprised it never makes other goats burn...cayenne makes me burn! I know chickens are supposed to not burn from hot stuff.

I'll do one more right before his 9 pm bottle...it will be his first milk so hopefully that will help the burn go away quicker.

night night....heres to hoping I don't wake up in the middle of the night to a huge diarrhea mess!

If you put apple cider vinegar in it, sometimes that makes them irritated, too. I have made it without the vinegar, and that seemed to help.
Good to know that about the tummy tamer now question on the cayenne pepper and honey I can't find the proportions suggested. Since you've done it recently do you know?

Here is the recipe from @happybleats
1 teaspoon each: Cayenne pepper, ginger, Cinnamon, Slippery elm, acv, in 20-30 cc of water..mix and drench 1 to 2 times a day. You can blend a fresh garlic clove in that as well.

I usually also add quite a but of molasses to make it more palatable. But honey would work, too.
Some babies do act more dramatic then other and it's ok to dilute further, but the cayenne us great for them.
Yes chickens enjoy cayenne in pumpkin lol. I give that to lethargic chickens..but ducks... now they feel it lol
