Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go Awesome! Not too often you see goats in a parade!
Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go Great parade idea! Did they have to agree to clean up any "berries" or was the parade okay with them? We are thinking of bring a couple of ours to the Christmas parade. Gina
Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go Thank you! This was the third year we did it.. Last year they all road on a wagon.. because the year before we had a couple Moms freak out when one decided he was done about half way through the parade and decided to lay down. So they picked up a full size goat and tried to carry it to the truck... it looked real bad... this year the rule was you could walk with your goat only if you could pick it up and carry it by your self... Except for my daughter and her Dairy Weather Timmy- who walks 3 miles with her at least twice a week so I new he would have no trouble.. and I told her if he did just get off the road and we would pick her up on the way back.. so in total walking where: 3-3mo old dairy goats, A 3yr old dairy weather, 7 wk old dairy doe- who two blocks from the end of the parade decided she was done and layed down so she got carried the rest of the way.. , 6 week old pygmy does, (carried most of the way) and a 6 wk old dairy/pygmy mix.. and the 3 boars and 1 1yr old pygmy doe road on the wagon. People love it... It was so hot but they all did great..
Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go That is awesome. We normally do the St Patrick day parade. O love the goat cut out in the truck. I will have to post tomorrow pictures of my daughter in the 4th of July Parade. She received an award
Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go The cut out in the back of the truck was from our 4H achievement day program the theme this year was Green and White.. So we had 4 or 5 Green and white goats and some green hay bails all made out of 1 inch card board.. If I would have though a head of time I would have painted them red-white and blue.. Our fair theme this year is a County Fair with a Country Flair.. So I might paint them to look like gingham or leave them green and put hats and bandannas on them
Re: 4th of July parade in our home town.. 4H club walking go We've had goats in our christmas parade for the last 5 years. One year we had a couple solid white ones and used red hair spray and made them candy cane striped.
