How do you all get as close to an accurate weight on your goaties without bringing them inside on to a human scale and trying to hold them???

We bring the human scale out to them! After they get beyond 50 or so lbs it's a backbreaker tho!
I have heard about just measuring the girth and lenth and dividing by 300 I think it was..we tried it on a doe that we knew her weight but came out way off.
How about using a dairy goat tape? If any one has used one on a Boer & you got accurate results I'd sure like t know!

We bought a hog scale at a farm auction for around $50, it works great :)

We bought a hanging scale and a calf sling. We got a 2person swing set frame through freecycle for free and use this set up for weighing the larger goats. I would have preferred a platform type scale, but this was much cheaper and does give us accurate weights. We have a wheel/pulley for pulling them up so it is not difficult at all, probably does take a bit longer than a platform scale would but for the money we saved it works great.
