For a goat that might have a tenancy to get grain stuck in its esophagus, besides splitting the ration up to two times a day and maybe using a different larger bowl to spread the grain out...does anyone see a problem with adding just a touch of, oil to the grain? Maybe help it slide down better? Fiasco’s site said they add Vit E to the ration sometimes.

I use vegetable oil at every feeding for my males. Because I add mineral to the feed and this helps the mineral stay adhered to the feed. Other wise it sits at the bottom and they don't eat it. I wouldn't do to much though, it might give them the runs. Just a little should be ok.

If the goat is getting things stuck I wouldn't use oil at all because oil in the lungs is very very bad. I would instead soak the grain in warm water before feedings.
