If she is fine, a day or two should be ok. Just keep an eye on things when you let her out.
After Labor Care
Hi all, this is the first time I’ve had a doe give birth. Unfortunately the baby didn’t make it, but mom passed her placenta just fine and is eating and drinking just fine as well. I have her in the birthing pen still just to monitor her.
My question is how long should I keep her in there? She had the baby this morning and I don’t want to let her out before she’s recovered a little bit. I do have another goat I can put in with her to give her company for the time being. I just don’t want to let her back with the herd and have others be rough with her.
