Agri-mectin for mites, pregnancy, dosage

Everyone here has always been so amazing and I'm hoping someone can help me this time too. I just bought a new doe and she came with mites. This is the third time this has happened to me with lice or mites and I've always successfully treated naturally but it's just way too much work this time with 8 females and 3 males and babies on the way.

I normally clean their houses completely three or four times a week but due to lots of snow and freezing temps I decided to do the deep bedding method for the last two and a half weeks. One doe in particular has in that time chewed a couple of tiny bloody spots on her front legs. Nobody else has any evidence of anything going on but I'm treating everyone. I once read that a sulfur deficiency can make a goat more susceptible to lice or mites and ironically, she's the only one that does not eat the sulfur supplement I put out.

All I have on hand is Agri-mectin (I live in the middle of nowhere and don't drive). I thought I could only do that as an injectable at 1 cc per 40 lbs but was told I could use it as a pour on. Is that true? Or should I inject it? 6 of my 8 does are pregnant, two being due in three weeks. Is it safe that far into pregnancy? I have two doe houses and can separate if necessary. Also I've read to use every seven days for three weeks and I also read use once and then again in 10 days and I don't know which is best or more accurate.

I'm also finding mixed information on milk withdrawal times. Does anyone know what the safest bet is? I have read everything between two weeks and 3 months and my head is about to explode.

Thank you so much for any advice. I'm very new to the chemical treatment world as I've always raised my goats holistically but this time, I just need to bite the bullet, despite being terrified of injecting my babies.

Agri-mectinis injectable, injecting iis best. Some have had success with ivomectin pour on for mites..we never did. Ibtried a few different brands and just did not work for me. Leg mites are imo extra problematic. I would do the injection 1 cc per 40 pounds (safe for pregnant does) once a week for 3 treatments. I would also gently wash the area with a vinegar water mix and try to get the scabs off. Then pat dry and apply ustock.

Thank you! I super appreciate you! I will do all of that. I'll order nu-stock right now too. I sprayed all of her legs with wondercide which is a natural cedar product that kills pretty much all nasties and then slathered her legs in organic coconut oil. I'll switch to vinegar water and maybe put some tea tree or something else in it to assist. It's so crazy how fast this came on! I just trimmed her hooves on Christmas Eve and she was totally fine. Now, a couple of bald and bloody spots. Hopefully I'm catching it soon enough that it won't be ultra problematic to everyone. I also just put out more sulfur and after a bit of encouragement she actually ate some for the first time ever. Everyone else loves the mix but for whatever reason she has always avoided it.

Thank you again! I appreciate you more than any other human on the planet at this very moment. ♡

Tea tree in carrier oil rubbed in location works great too. I try to keep natural as well but had a buck who was terrible with mites every rut season. Sometimes got to do what's best even when it's not natural.
We also find feeding fresh raw garlic help prevent lice and mites.

True indeed. I have always been 100% natural and holistic but treating 11 goats daily for 3 weeks or longer is just too much this time, and I want them to never go through this again. I don't think I'll be buying any more goats from the place that's given me both lice and mites so many times either.

I'll add tea tree for sure though. I have someone lined up to help me with injections the next three Sundays starting bright and early tomorrow morning. Phew.
