I have a 13 year old wether that has never had alfalfa. With all the problems getting hay this year I was wondering if I can feed him some alfalfa. The hay I can get my hands on is 10% alfalfa the rest grass hay. This wether had problems with UC 11yrs ago. He also has gden blend minerals free choice at all times. Thanks

He should be fine on it. You might want to have AC on hand just in case.
When it gets real cold my 5yr old wether gets the 70/30 mix.

Thanks so much in 13 years raising goats I've never seen such a shortage of grass hay. The alfalfa mix is plentiful. My 13 yr old wether I've raised since birth truly means the world to me and I've always tried so hard to keep his diet balanced

His daily diet will consist of the 10% alfalfa , hay mix free choice golden blend liberal mix at 2:1 cal to phos. Mana pro goat treats usually just a hand full now and then. Winter I like to give him some grain not much about 1/2 a cup of blue seal meat grower that is ac medicated with a little hay stretcher. The only change in his diet will be the 10% alfalfa.
