I have two 5 month old nubian does that I'm hopping to breed and milk. I was told from the person I got them from that they need alfalfa. I have them on a really good orchard grass and they are devouring it. But I have no room in the barn for more hay right now. So what's your opinion on alfalfa pellets vs. regular alfalfa? Or should I just keep them on what I have now?

If they are growing well on orchard grass that's fine you can give them a little alfalfa pellets but i dont think you need to keep 2 kinds of hay. We dont.

It's good to put alfalfa in their diet, but if that's not an option...they can do well on a grass type hay. Just make sure it's good quality. Keep up on the minerals, copper, selenium, deworming, cocci, etc. Alfalfa pellets are better than no alfalfa at all.
