Hi. I am trying to get two of my does registered but confused on what to consider their colors. The first doe I have is all white with brown markings. The second doe is white with brown and black markings. I would consider them both Chamoisee but wanted a second opinion. Here are their photos. Star.jpg Phoenix.jpg

The second one is “broken chamoisee.” If it she had solid black legs she would just be “chamoisee,” but those white splashes on her legs make her broken.
You could register the first one as “chamoisee,” but I would make a note of her brown trim by calling her “chamoisee with chocolate trim.”
Pretty does! Alpines carrying the chocolate gene are quite rare!

Yup! It’s not all that desirable by a lot of people though, as if she ever produces a sundgau kid, it could be a chocolate sundgau instead of a black,(like a Toggenburg)which is very frowned upon in Alpines. Personally I think it’s kinda cool.

Well her Dam is the doe in my profile picture. I will definitely keep that in mind.
