Am I still dealing with worms?

I recently started taking care of one of my parents goats who was in awful shape. Her sides were flat. She had an awful case of pure liquid diarrhea, a cough, and overall was lethargic, but still standing. I wormed her with safeguard, gave her a few days of fortified b12 complex injections, probiotics, moved over to oral b12, and daily electrolytes to keep her hydrated throughout.

I'm incredibly happy to say the diarrhea is completely gone and her rumen is in proper functioning order again. She's eating great and overall in almost good condition, but she still has a cough. It sounds wet, but she has no snotty nose and no fever. I've been keeping an eye on her temp all week. I'm planning on calling the vet today, but if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Could be a pneumonia! Talk with the vet and see what they say... you've done a good job!

Good job!!! Glad she's doing well other wise.
What is her temp running? Hows her famancha? Lung worms can cause coughing if everything else looks good. Safeguard won't deal with lung worm. You can send a fecal to meadowmist labs and include a request for a lung worm test. It's 6 bucks extra so 12 bucks total and you will get a full report via email.

Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it. Her temp's been running solid between 102.6-102.9. I'll get a fecal sent in asap. I haven't taken a good look at her color today yet, but I will be checking on her again tonight and I'll update after I do. If I do get a confirmation for lungworms, what's the best wormer to combat them?

For lungworm ivermectin dosed at 1 cc per 33 pound spaced 10 days apart for 3 doses. (I think there has been a discussion on if it's 33 pounds or 34 pounds per cc in the past)

One thing I will say is even when paying the extra for the lung worm specific fecal they don't always show up. I used to vet tech and run them and it was very common to still have it not show up. Yet after treating the animal for lungworm the coughing went away. So I myself from previous experience if some one is coughing without a fever or any other symptoms always suggest just worming for lungworm.

Ivomec works good for lung worm. Some feel it's best given orally 1 cc per 33# .

I'd just treat for lungworm, personally. Skip the wait on a fecal but keep watch on the temp in case you are dealing with a sneaky infection.

Good job! She's lucky to have you!
Thank you very much everyone, I'll start treating her for lungworms today. For the ivermectin, what kind should I buy if giving by mouth? Or is it better to just inject and get it over with? I know of the injectable and horse paste.
