Dont have time for full explanation on her issues and what I have been giving but just note she isnt eating well I havent seen her drink (but she could be, did see her pee).

    I am waiting on bloodwork

just saw this poop - I am thinking Enterotoxemia (Angie is 2 1/2 years old never had a CD/T shot)

its all strung together with a brown thick mucus stuff and the pellets are real tiny and pointy at one end and longer then normal. it smells but that could be just because its poop :p

    ideas?

It does look as though she's got something messing up her tummy. It looks like actual hay or grass stringing the pellets together - is that right or is it just mucus that looks like grass? Has she been dewormed?

Have you sent some in for a fecal? Liverfluke can cause their pellets to be disfigured(pointy ends) and cocci can make their poo mucousy.

I took that pic at 2am I haven been able to do a fecal. Liverflukes don't show up in a fecal anyway.

I saved it, its in the fridge I will see what the vet says about her bloodwork when he calls

Very interesting! One of my gals had strange poop like that for a couple of days last yr or so...have to look in barn records.

Nothing. But it runs vaguely in my mind that she was getting oatmeal at the time & cleared on its own.

Hi Stacey.... I had a doe with poop just like that... it was liver flukes. Have you been worming with Ivomec Plus?

she was wormed but maybe not enough?

whats the dosage you use for treating liverflukes?

I am headed out again she in "stable" condition. Walking around exploring her new surroundings she is in. Gmom says she drank twice on her own :leap: and I offered her grain she was interested but didnt really eat it. Gmom said she was in and out of the hay feeder today so I presume she ate some stuff.

Mom says she was chewing cud when she left (noonish)

So I feel ok leaving her again to get some MOM for her from Walmart

The dose is 1cc per 110 lbs, but you have to treat them once every 10 days for three treatments to kill all worms in a cycle.

:? You might double check on dosage. I've been doing the plus @ 1ccper 50lb

Orally is 1cc per 35# - but to give injectable it is 1cc per 100#

By the way Nancy - I will wave as we drive through - fixin' to leave Spokane in about an hour or so and will be headed your way to Spanaway, then to Portland, then home!

I got the dosage from a vet and I gave her that - its much less then what you are all saying  I did a conversion and made sure she got the right amount of the desired drug per pound.

My doe who came down with a near fatal infection after kidding had poop like that for several days. I attributed it to dehydration and the fact that she wasn't eating enough. As her infection finally began to clear up and she ate more, it went away.

Im figuring since she was already treated for Liverflukes this is just a dehydration issue. Because the vet didnt seem to upset about it (well actually the two vets I talked to) and her kidney levels are high meaning she needs fluids. But now that she is drinking Im happier. :)
