I need to get an antibiotic for pnemonia. Is LA200 and Duramycin (sp?) the same thing? It so what is the dosage? Please reply if you know!
Yes I will definatly follow up with probios! Hopefully he'll make it! I couldn't get anything yesterday TSC was closed, hopefully it isn't too late Please pray that he recovers.
give everyone who has signs a dose, one dose should do it for them but for the one who is worse off give a second shot 24 hours later at half the dose of the first shot. Unless you see improvement. Doing it this way will keep the antibiotic in his system longer and help him fight it. yogurt or probios would be good as already suggested.
I just talked to a breeder friend and she doesn't like La200 (Duramycin) and said she likes Naxell (sp?) better soo..... Darn it! I was going to go pick up Azriel today (my friend is giving me, for a trade) but I didn't want to bring her home to sickness!
naxcel is good but with a goat sick with pneumonia you need to act quick and use what you have available to you. Naxcel if from the vet only
I don't know how, but it has spread to atleast half of our goats! Although some just have a cough and runny nose.
How do you know it is Pneumonia? Are the lungs rattling? Runny nose and cough is not a reason to treat with a antibiotic. I assume that there is more to it. Do any have a temp?
He has thick green snott is wheezing and has a cough, I don't have a thermometor, My dog broke it! I gave everyone a shot tonight, they all have a slight cough and stuffy noses soo......
I had the same thing run thru my herd awhile back when I got new goats and everyone got a shot and some got a shot the second day. Everyone got better thankfully. Anybody weezing I would think about doing a second shot tomorrow. That is what I did.
Thanks Teresa, that helped me relax a little. I am deffinatly going to follow up with a shot tomorrow on several of them, and then Probios all round!
OMG, I gave this to some bred does! I didn't know it would hurt the kids! I feel horrible, I am crying I can barely see the keyboard!
