I keep both penicillin and Nuflor on hand. Between these two, most everything we may deal with are dealt with.

Ugh! They are making those two RX only? That's crazy! Where can I read about this? I haven't heard about it in my state.

Are those restrictions all over or specific states? I (for some reason) thought they had pushed it back until next year. I'm probably wrong....

All antibiotics will be RX only by June 2023. But I'm not sure how long they will be available. I'm assuming that, at some point, companies like Jeffers will stop stocking them. So they may become hard to find before that date.

Maybe jeffers will switch to an online pharmacy so vets can approve antibiotics?

That would be nice!
To answer @TCOLVIN 's original question, I like to keep udder infusions (Today), penicillin, and spectinomycin (ScourChek) on hand.

They have on their website they won’t do VPN and I believe RX’s it’s getting ridiculous that small holders are going to be put in this situation. All I can say is develop a great relationship with your vet. I did see TSC is going to have a pharmacy so that might help.

As of today if you search their website for nuflor it says it is RX only and they do not have a vet on staff so they no longer offer it for sale.

Online companies who sell antibiotics may still be there as they have been and just say you need a RX from a vet to purchase.

That's it, we just all have to go to vet school :ROFLMAO::geek::unsure:

Yep 👍
Then I gather no one is a fan of Noromycin 300? It has saved many goats on my farm. I keep agricilum, Nuflor, Noromycin 300, Bose, Muse, B Complex, Thiamin, Valbazen, Cydectin, ivermectin, Toltrazuril and a host of herbs and other items. My vet has told me that most RX items if kept in a controlled temp of 50-55 degrees in a dark cooler, the medicine will still be good a year or more after expiration date. I just got thru clearing up pneumonia in a week old baby with seven days of 2 year out of date antibiotics. Not saying to anybody to keep medicine forever but definitely don’t throw it out like milk, it all depends a lot on light and temperature consistently.
