Wondering if anyone is feeding balage to any of their animals?

We just assisted in gathering balage and purchased some.

Not sure of all the details, but it is high in alfalfa content and of course moisture!

What animals can safely eat this moist and green product? How quickly does it need to be consumed?

Is it ok for goats, Lambs/sheep, and/or beef cattle? :goattruck:

If it is safe, how much can they eat? Should they not eat it?

    What about Beef cattle?

Mold is a real danger for goats. If it was put up correctly, beef cattle do well on it. I do not have any idea about sheep, but I bet they are the same as goats with regard to the mold issue.
