Her udder is tightish. I don't want to make any more guesses because she is toying with me. She was licking my hands and arms two nights ago and might have been having small contractions or just shifting kids around. She kept standing funny like a goat in early labor. She went back to acting normal after 20 minutes. I won't believe it until I see a bubble! She's been messing with me for almost 2 weeks.
i had a doe do that to me this year! i just quit even tryna figure it out. in the end all i was watching for was the long amber string of mucus, until then i was ignoring ligaments, udder, (which was way bigger than last year so i thought she was full and tight a month before she kidded lol) i ignored her sides, baby movement, small amounts of discharge, everything, until a month later on a freezing cold, rainy night my brother texted me at work and said he was gonna feed the goats for me and noticed she had a long string of goop. lol yep, still had an hour and a half left of work so kinda freaked out, but then she held out another 12 hours before i finally got mah lil baby goat. 🤣 the second sleepless night i had with her, i was just praying it wasnt gonna be another false alarm, the month before when she did that i literally got 3 hours of sleep.Her udder is tightish. She has another kidding window at the end of April as well. My doe was with the buck for a month and a half, so basically a month and a half of me dying of impatience 🤣 she kidded right at the one month mark, but she also had a false labor on day 150 of being with the buck. I was worried she had a cloud pregnancy cuz right after the false labor her sides looked a LOT smaller and her vulva was no where near as lose/swollen as it had been. But then finallyyyyy I got my baby, (only one but oh well lol)She has another kidding window at the end of April as well. So she can hold on and tease me more if she wants.
Hopefully she doesn't keep you waiting too much longer, I wanna see babies!!
I don't know how yall can go without a due date. Not that it matters so much because they do go when they are ready, but it would be narrowed down to 2 weeks tops. I leave tomorrow for about 15 hours to go three states away and bring home my new Nubian kids. Bambi has me worried she will kid while I am gone. Hope not!!! Barley heard I was going three states away and poked herself in the eye. I have been treating that and might start a thread about it, but I think the terramicyn eye cream, vetericyn pink eye spray, and vetericyn eye gel are helping. Fingers crossed! Might try a few drops of penicillin or la-200. What else farm animlals? I'll be home by 9. She keeps leading me on. A few hours ago she was trying to nurse on my fingers...Told her I'm not falling for it anymore. The discharge stopped Saturday. If no kids by this weekend, I assume she is going for her LAST due date for the end of April. She has had a tight looking udder for about a week and a half and started building an udder in late February. Today is day 154 from breeding with the buck going by when I think she let him mount her because she was actually in heat and not just feeling the moment. Shamrock is on her last due date with 145 being this Friday. It helps having the new nubian kids to love on and ease the desire for cute goat kids to watch. I was hoping the new kid sounds might inspire them. I bottle fed them where the girls could see. Haha.How is she?
