I have a 2 year old buck that has a horn that has grown down by his eye it is actually pushing on his eye socket. Is it safe to band it? I have never done that before. I don't want him to lose his eye either. What should I do.

What I would do is cut the tip off and get it away from that eye and then also band it. Its either band it, take him to a vet and spend a ton of money to remove it or cull.

A picture to see what we are dealing with out be great. But as mentioned you need to cut it or at least a good part of it off. And if you dont know what you are doing when banding it, it wont really work anyways. But if you do get it done right, its going to need time to fall off. So getting it outta his eye is the first order of business.

Banding should work in your scenario. I prefer the cut and burn method overall but hear very good things about banding.
