I have a camera for the house, but the signal will not go through my metal barn roof. Also, I would like a camera I can access from my phone for under $200. The problem is we live in a dead zone. I don't know if I set up a mifi in the barn if a) it would work b)would cost a fortune to run all day while I'm at work. Any suggestions would be appropriated.

There is another piece of equipment that you need for metal barns. Like an amplifier or repeater. Can't remember the name of the equipment.

Ok it is a transmitter with an antenna.

The barn in about 300 feet from the house.

I have a Foscam camera set up in my barn which is at leats 300 yards away from my wifi router. It is all metal and I haven't had any problems with the signal. I don't really know much about a mifi and how it would work

I should also have added that I can check the camera from my phone through an app I got on my phone and the whole thing was about $89

the camera we have now is wireless but not WiFi. It works fine out of the barn, but the metal roof is obstructing it. I don't know what to look for that would boost the signal. Again, not a wifi signal, just the wireless. We have horrible internet connection in our area, so I'm guessing the Ipad camera things will not work. I just need something to get the camera signal to the house monitor.

Sounds like you need the transmitter with antenae.
