I'm a big believer in bartering. We traded 12 chickens (11 hens, 1 rooster) for two dozen each week for three months. I make organic Waldorf-style dolls. I traded a doll for a painted portrait of my son (I have a really good friend who's an incredible, professional artist). I also traded a doll for a one hour session with a medium (yep, ghost-whisperer, really). I traded a quilt I made for a set of embroidered panels that I used to make another quilt. I LOVE bartering.

    transport for goat

I have also done payments with different breeders. I only do this with goat folks I know and vis versa but like to help where I can so we do a bit in the barter system around here.
