I just had a baby goat a few days ago, and im scared she may be blind. She's very friendly, but its like she can't see. One of her eyes looks a little cloudy. But we sprayed some pink eye spray in but it did not seem to help.if i call for her and then move a few steps over, she follows my voice but cant find where is's standing. I really hope shes not but its not looking good!
good call on treating the eye. But yes some can be born blind. I once leased a buck who was blind. He did fine - so even if she is blind Im sure she can live a good life.
StaceyRosado- Thanks for the info. IDK sometimes its like she can sort of see but like today its not looking good.
ksalvagno- Where would you get that? Like a co-op or farm store?
Try giving Vitamin A&D injectable, SQ in case it is a deficiency.
Check the kid for inverted eye lids as well.
Treating as if it is pinkeye is wise too and infection.
Contact a vet to have a look at the kid. If the blindness can be corrected ASAP, the better the chances you may have to save the kids eye site, if it is something that can be treated.
