And true to her glorious mothering, she has an udder bigger than Binky's!! I dried her off in October after I knew she was bred and today, not only did my hubby comment on her "wide load" but also her bag. Binky is a week away from hitting 145 with her second breeding and her udder is not as big! Please pray for a warm up around here next week, the temps for the weekend are to be in the single digits at night, I am going to be so nervous cause the coldest I've had kids born was the low 20s! Bootsies "used" belly is at 52 inches around...the most she's ever had was triplets, I hope she has twins at least , her udder will be balanced, unlike her last single kidding! Binky twinned before so a I am hoping so this time too...getting excited to see what her udder will balloon to.!

I'm rambling as I go and I'm sure you all have your own girls to tend to,but I am getting really scared here, losing a precious girl during a delivery is heartbreaking and traumatizing, I know theres always a chance of that happening when you choose to keep a buck or 2, even when the breeding isn't a planned one, this will definately be Bootsies last kidding and my hubby( believe it or not) wants me to keep a Bootsie baby, I have a baby of hers, Tilly, he was just in love with her buckling from last year and would like another...wethered..like that lil' guy. Won't get it though cause Chief sired these ones. Sorry rambling again, guess the excitement of the up coming birth has me all jittery, not to mention the 2 pots of coffee and chocolate!!

And nope - no girls to be looking after right now, still not 100% sure all are bred (though 80% sure)

Liz, I can relate to the feeling jittery part. We are breeding our Doe this weekend and I am nervous about the delivery and she isn't even pregnant yet. I saw Rose born in 2006 and know my sweet girl is going to hopefully be giving us babies. Lord willing of course. I don't want to think about losing her either. It would be devastating to me and my son. This will be our first kidding here on our farm. I have helped out the neighbors enough to know what to do, but when it is your animal it is just different. But I am trusting the Lord for a healty delivery and healty babies. If your anxiey levels get to too, pray. It always works for me.

Liz. I would tell you that you need to go with your gut. That is what I have been going and it is a good thing.
Just watch them and look for any signs that are different. Make sure you have everything that you need handy.
The one thing I would like to tell everyone to make sure they have in their kidding kits, is a nasal aspirator for the infant section at your local store, or a ear cleaner. I KNOW that because I was able to use mine, ( I did one baby while my daughter did the other), if I did not have them I just might of lost them.
I have never needed one before last year and I only used it on one set of babies.

Another thing, is anyone has babies and they are full of fluid, or you do not have one of the aspirators, then grab then by their back feet, and swing them back and forth, that really helps.
