How much do I feed and how often? I'm feeding 4oz every 4 hrs and they act as if their starving. I've never had large breed goats so I could use alittle guidance.

How old are they? Are you useing replacer or momma's milk. The worst thing you can do is overfeed them and give them scours

Here is the schedule I use for standard sized goats:

New born: 4 oz colostrum every 3 hours for the first two feedings
Day 1: After the first six hours, feed 4-5 oz every six hours
Day 2: Feed 5-5 1/2 oz milk four times a day
Day 3: 6 oz four times a day
Day 4-9: 9 oz four times a day
Day 10-2 months: 15 oz three times a day

    HTH :)

Thank you GoatHappy!! I should of said they were born Thursday night and with mom till Saturday afternoon.
  5. Please keep in mind that a kid will suck and suck. It is very soothing to the kid. You can and will overfeed them if you let them have their way and you can and will kill them then. Stick to your guns no more then what is to be fed.
