Hi

I hope you are all well. I bred this doe on 8 July 2020 and it was the first time for her. Now almost 2.5 months passed and she never looks into heat and her belly also look tight so we were all looking forward for the kids in December. But from today morning the doe is bleating so much that everyone is disturbed. And when I pet her she is wagging her tail too much like she is in heat. Also smelling the other doe. So she looks like in heat. How come she fool us for almost 2.5 months?

She does look quite messy back there.

Do you see blood on her privates?
If so, she may of been hit and aborted her babies.

She would not show any signs of being pregnant if she was bred in July, too early for changes to her body. ;)

She looks to me as she has aborted. Now I will most probably take her tomorrow for breeding. What can be the reasons for abortion. Also you know our goats are tied and they cannot roam freely.

this early may not see too much, as Pam said, small amount of blood. I would wait at least a second cycle before breeding her again. allow her body to clean and reset..a bitof rest you know.

She is disturbing too much. And next month I will be occupied with some household chores so it will be difficult for me. As I have to go to a place 30 minutes far for breeding

It may be just a small amount of blood.
So today I got her and the other doe bred. They were also saying that maybe she has cleaned herself yet and that may cause this breeding to be non effective.

My other doe is not feeling good after being bred. She is breathing fast but not too much heavily and is standing in one place. She was with buck for almost 1 hour as the buck was having difficulty breeding her. So she maybe tired and it was her first time.

No, but if she has a big worm load, copper deficient and sometimes other mineral deficiencies, stressed or weather changes, it could be a bad mix.

If she is OK now, that is good, but watch her closely.

Have you taken her temp at all?

Is she eating and acting normal?

How are your two does feeling now?
They are doing fine.
But one doe has her one eye shut. Don't know what is happening from last 2 days. First his left eye was shut and tears coming down and now the other one. But the first one is now half open. She is not sitting down. Should I make another thread?

Check the eyes for scratches, ulcers, white cloudy area's.

Make sure no foreign objects are in the eyes.

Flush with clean water in case it is dust in there, if the eye looks clear.

Does it look like pinkeye?
Cloudiness or ulceration center eyeball?

Can you get a picture of the eye's?
