I have a nice boer doeling - calypso. She is 8 months now (i usually breed around 9. But one thing that is making me wonder on wether or not to breed is that she is short. right now her head is just passed my knee (im short). She is from DQ(herd prefix) lines that grow slowly until they are yearlings, then they grow like crazy (im trying to get rid of that trait.). And is coming into season now. But would she be able to carry the kids safely? She is otherwise totally healthy.

with boers............ we do not breed our young does until they reach ..........1 year old, we make sure they will not be stunted that way......................I do not recommend it,, but that is up to you as a breeder.........

My boer doeling was small at 8 months old and now that she is a yearling she is what I would consider to be normal sized. Not sure how much she weighs since she is too heavy for me to pick up. I think I would wait to breed her.
