I plan to breed my nannies (sanaan, boer and nubian) in late Oct. Most of them are over 1yr old but i do have a couple who were born this year (Mar &Apr)
Next week i plan to deworm them all and give them BComplex shots.
Do y'all have any other advice, suggestions, do's or dont's ?
Here's the way we do it.
A few weeks before breeding does get wormed, feet trimmed & BoSe. Then they get a little feed up until a few weeks after being bred.
Make sure your buck is in optimum condition as well, including BoSe if you are in selenium deficient area.
My March & April Boer girls will wait till next year.
I always copper bolus and give a BoSe shot prior to breeding. Then when they are 4 weeks prior to due date is when I do CDT and another BoSe shot. I will also do copper if needed.
Forgot to include the yearly CDT booster & another Bose about two weeks before kidding.
They also start getting grained around that time, slow increase.
Wormed again the day of kidding & again 10 days later.
