Last year at our fair our goats were complimented on all factors except for their overall finish. This year we have begun experimenting with supplements. I know that one of the best things we can do is keep a daily eye on our animals to assess their growth, but with so many feeds and supplements out there I'm curious as to what you would do with this situation:
* One year breeding doe (Boer). Two months before show. Continue putting on both muscle and fat for show, as much weight gain as possible.
What would be your go-to feeding plan? Supplements? Which types and how much? Exercise plan? (And of course, genetics plays a part as well, I'm just curious to see how far we can get our goats to come along when we give them their best shot).
Thanks in advance!
