I am new to goats and have only had them since April so I haven't been through breeding yet. One of my Nubian does was acting like she was in heat, she would escape her pen ad go down to te bucks pen and stand by the door so I decided to let her in. She normally runs from him but this time she stood still for him. How long does the process take? He only stayed on her a few seconds each time and after about 25 minutes they both lost interest. My buck is 7 monts old and this is the first time I have let any of my girls in with him. After that day she is not interested in him any more. The day after I put her in there again and she just runs from him.

Yep, he did his job and sounds like you'll have kids in 5 months! If your doe wanted to be with the buck and stood for him, she was in "standing" heat which is the perfect time for her to be bred. :)

It only takes seconds for the buck to mount and inseminate her...
