O.k. I have a 3 week old lamb that broke his leg along with a bad cut. We've clean the leg by soaking in warm water with betadine(sp) a few time, also used pen to flush the cut. We set the leg using paint stick wrapped with vet wrap then duck tape them in place so we can still get to the cut without unsetting the leg. This is all cover with vet wrap to keep clean. He's on pen and gets aspire for pain and swollen. Actually he doesn't act like there is a lot of pain and there is little swelling. I really would prefer to use something other then aspire so are there any natural fever/pain relief I could use? Any thing to help fight infect would help also. He's also getting B complex and had a tetanus shot. Shelly

Shelly - Give him arnica for any swelling and associated pain, comfrey will help the bones knit faster and the cut heal faster. Boosting his immune system is always a good idea, since any stress can trigger worm or other issues. There are lots of herbs for that, but ginger will not only do this, but is also a pain reliever.
