Hi I am from Brazil and this is my first time in this forum. Also, I would like to apologize in advance for grammar mistakes as my native language is Portuguese. I raised goats before, as pets, but not able to continue. I am teacher and at this moment am I writing about goats. At this first post I have some doubts about Brucellosis: Is it true that male vaccination may cause infertility ? Do I also need to vaccin female goats ? Because of this doubts, I would like to know what members of the herd to vaccine in order the keep the herd free from Brucellosis. Moises
Welcome Moises! I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to say Hello! I am in New Mexico in the US. Around here we don't vaccinate for brucellosis unless it is required for a show like the State Fair. I don't even know about that for sure because I don't take animals there. Someone else will know more about this. Jan

I Don't use the vaccine and never had an issue with Brucellosis.....the only thing I can say is....to call your veterinarian... and ask if ...they have alot of cases of Brucellosis in your area....and if you should vaccinate your Goats.. and ...if it is safe to give.... I am......not much help here....sorry...
