My young Nigi buck had a dry cough for about 1-2 days. Today he has almost completely lost his voice. Otherwise acting normal.
Thoughts?

Is he running a temp? Snotty nose? Off feed? Separating from the rest of the bunch, or standing off by himself hunched up? Has the wind been blowing excessively and stirring up the dust and dirt? Is his hay dusty? More information is needed. :)

Temp: Not sure, can take one tomorrow.
No Snotty nose.
Eating like crazy.
Still being a butt head to the other buck :p Walking normally.
Not super windy.
Hay is not dusty. Maybe a little. But not bad.
Could be allergies. Maybe try Benedryl? I'm not sure what the dosage is, but hopefully someone will chime in with it or perhaps a search? Hold on a minute and I will see if I can find the dosage.
Is he by himself? Is there does close in heat? I would say he is just yelling for the girls
Ok, Benedryl is 15-20 cc's if liquid. Tablets are apparently 25 ml, so crush one and add enough water to drench if the goat won't take it.

No, he is with a Pygmy buck. One doe is in heat but he was not screaming.
Just coughing for the past day or two. No coughing at all today though.

Thanks, I'll give him some tomorrow, and see if that helps :)
You're welcome. :)
