Hi. Last night, which was the 4th dose of penicillin, my buckling couldn't stand up after the shot. He was breathing ok and he never made a sound when I was giving the shot. The neefle went in his hind leg towards the top of leg where I felt most of the muscle. I gave him warm molasses water rubbed him for about 10 minutes while he was held. Put in in the grass to see if he could stand, a few minutes later he was ok. Anyone have clue as to what could have happened? I thought I hit a nerver or something.
Thanks

Don't give shots in the hind legs. You risk hitting nerves that can be damaged. Give in the neck triangle.

What a chunky baby in you avatar pic! Love it!

But I'm glad the buckling is ok. I normally try to give shots SQ, but when I can't I normally do it in the hind leg, but I havent had any problems like that. Good think you didn't wreck the nerve!
