Buckling has possible sore mouth/orf???? Help!

One of our does just kidded a few days ago, had a set of twins (one buckling, one doeling). They are beautiful little babies, but three days in I noticed this scabby poop hanging off the side of the bucklings bum. I thought maybe because the mother is a new mom she isnt cleaning him properly. Im thinking that is not the case anymore as a small soft lump has formed in the area as well now. The mother is in great health as well, no signs of sore mouth/orf. We are still very new at this and its super discouraging to see this on a 3 day old kid. Any help is very much appreciated!!! I did take pictures and have been taking the proper precautions by wearing gloves and be very cleanly.

Looks like staph. Gently clean and use betadine.

Is there a growth there?
I would get the vet to check it.
I have seen the growths before in here. It maybe a cyst from being a clogged pour. Looks ready to bust.
Does the crusty stuff wash off? Maybe a bit of dryed drainage.
A vet check wouldn't hurt.
An update! Just had him at the vet. It was some sort of an absess, they drained it, lanced it and gave him antibiotics and a cleaning solution to keep area clean. Scabs all fell off very easily, they checked them under the microscope (bit of a bacterial infection). He looks great now!

Glad he was treated and going to be on the mend. :)

That’s good to here. Sometimes I have newbies from 1-3 weeks old that crust over and almost it not so, stops their bowel movement, or so it seems. Mom sometimes does not do her job cleaning so you have to remove it. I use warm water with a little dawn dish detergent and a rag and soak it for a while then take the rag and pull it loose and clean it up. Many times I’ve added a dab of Vaseline over and around the Bum. Not my favorite job but once removed I normally have no further problems. In your case you had another problem also, glad you got it straightened out.
PS-don’t use too much Vaseline as it also collects dirt and foreign matter.
