my new boer buck..odin's eye looks clouded over, runny, and the lower lid looks droopy..this is on his right side...on the left it just looks a little droopy...but usually they arent so low..

maybe he hit it on something?

It's very likely he could have hit it on something...I've had that happen before and it gets all cloudy and runny. Usually I'll put some terramycin eye ointment in there to help it heal up. Also check it really well to make sure there is nothing stuck in it, I've found a piece of hay in one before.

I'd rinse it out well with some normal saline too. That will help clear anything out of it.

well I just went out and checked his eye closer...before he was at the other side of the buck pen....

it looks less runny, but more clouded over now. I bet he got poked by the other buck. yikes.

I didnt have any eye ointment..so i'm gonna go to the feed store and pick some up. yesterday I just captured him, cleaned up around his eye and gave it a gentle rinse, but it looks like that didnt help, except with the runny-ness.

Put it on the eyeball, if you can lift the lid a little and apply it under the lid that's good. Does look like he got a good poke! Can he still see out of it?

If you can, hold a wet tea bag on his eye for as long as you can. Then put the meds in it. It helps my goats all the time when they need it BUT they are not bucks, so I do not know how well that will work.
