Can the "buckskin gene" if there is such a thing, be expressed on backgrounds other then white/cream?

Sorry about the weird wording.

What I meant was, has anyone had a black goat slowly turn "buckskin"? I have one who was born black agouti, but who has started getting the markings. His mother is a buckskin and so was his brother. It is not a copper issue (he has been a boluse (?) and vet checked the level, all normal". Coat is not rough.

I personally haven't seen that. Out of curiousity...do you have any photos? I'd love to see. :)
I wish I could get a good one of what I'm talking about. He will.not.hold.still! I keep getting a black blur. :GAAH:

Over the past month he has also gained random white hairs. I don't know what that's about.

Finally was able to get a good pic. The fur is the same texture as the rest of him, it just looks a little rough in the pic for some reason. It's the same on both sides.
