My goat Tara has already dried up (she kidded in Feb.) She has a lump on her udder but no milk. The udder is not visible from the outside. You can feel a marble size lump under the skin. Ideas what it could be? She has no milk- obviously not mastitis. Thanks, Jen
Is it a gland you are feeling? Near the teats or in the udder? Even with not producing milk, previously freshened does will still have glandular tissue in the udder....just not as much as if she was in production.
maybe a congested gland. It is just an obvious mass under the skin that I don't remember feeling when I was milking her. Now that she is dry it is vary obvious.
