Hey all it’s me again with my goat named Texas. He seems to be getting himself sick or hurt in some way. This time he has this touch area on the back right upper leg. I spray blue coat on it everyday and nothing seems to heal it up. No hair grows on it and it seems very itchy. Any ideas?

Looks like staph. I would wash with dawn dish soap to get off the scabs, then spray with Chlorhexidine. He won't like his bath - better have two to do this.

If it is staph would the Chlorhexidine kill the staph or just slow it down?

Chlorhexidine will get rid of it. You want to put it on twice a day.

Possibly something stuck in there? Like a prickle? Could you shave away the hair then see if it's an abscess or a skin infection? Possibly yeast even or allergies?
