We have a wild hog that will be butchered come September. My daughter and I caught him after chasing him for about two hours. The neighbors got a big laugh and now wish they would have had a camera. They didn't think we'd catch him. Now he is ready to butcher and was wondering if we should worm him before we do? If we worm him, wont we have to wait to butcher? How does that work since he would get worms while waiting for the wormer to wear off?

When is he going to be butchered? He probably doesn't need to be wormed but there are withdraw times you would need to know.

This fall. They say to wait for cooler weather here in Florida, so most people wait for fall. I don't know if worms are more plentiful because of heat stress or why. I read that pumpkin seeds work as a wormer. Is there any truth in that?

If you wormed him now, there would be no problem with butchering in the fall. But you need to read the slaughter time for each wormer so you know.
