cashmere ??

    Hi, does anyone here milk there cashmere goats? can it be done?

    Also, I spoke to a lady in england and she said that she feeds her cashmere only hay in the winter??

    I don't milk mine, but I don't see why you couldn't. Also, Some people do feed theirs only hay, we only really feed ours that unless the does are milking or if it is ridiculously cold out.

    Hi fiberchick04, thanks for the reply, will post the milking question in the dairy section, would like to know how much they give etc.

    Hey, I have 5 cashmere goats but don't milk them. I feed them grain and hay in the winter because there is snow on the ground and nothing for them to eat. I hope that was a little helpful....
     
  6. ? Would feeding a grain or sunflower seeds make the fiber nicer?

    No, I don't think so but I don't give them sunflower seeds. Maybe I should try....
