Just looking for a definitive answer, as my searches are yielding some varying information.

My does were vaccinated with CD&T 4 weeks prior to kidding.

When is the "proper" time to give the newborns their first shot, and how much later do they get their second? And that's it, for a year, right?

Thanks!

I agree with Nancy....we dont give it before 2 1/2-3 months old...Colorado Serum Company, the maker of CD&T recommend waiting until weening as well..

I do the 3 weeks and 6 weeks old as well. It is ultimately up to you when you want to do it as you can see that there are varying opinions on here too.

the idea is that the milk inhibits the ability for the body to build up immunities - or something like that. So they suggest to give the CD/T at weaning.

I choose not to give the CD/T shot but I keep the antitoxin on hand.
